Baluran consists of various type of Indonesian ecosystems, hence the park is called as the microcosm of Indonesian forest ecosystem. The ecosystems vary from coastal forest, mangrove forest, salt water forest, savanna, mountainous rain forest, monsoon forest, seagrass and coral reef.
